I can certainly see some of the reading as inspirational. Take this passage from "The Big Overeasy" by Jasper Fforde, a classic murder mystery set in a Nursery Rhyme where huge egg falls from a wall- murder or suicide?
"At that moment one of the dogs got out of its basket, pushed forth it front legs and stretched. The hamstrings of its back legs quivered with the effort, and at the climax of the stretch the dog lowered its head, raised its tail and farted so loudly that the other dogs glanced up with a look of astonishment and admiration. The dog then walked over to Mrs. Hubbard, laid its nose on her lap and whined piteously." pp 49Now that is realistic prose! Sign me up.
Stay tuned later this week for a press release announcing my foray into the perfume business with Gaffer No. 5 Pour Chien
