Sveiki Hunds,
Thought I'd pass on an p.mail from my monkey who has been neglecting me while away on something called 'work'. I was certain he worked for me, apparently we'll need to clear that up when he gets back.
So, now he is in a place far, far away. Not to be confused with the land "Far, Far Away" where Shrek and Fiona went to meet her folks, but some place that actually is far, far away. I know my favorite park in North Vancouver, Lynn Canyon is far, far away as we take my car to get there. I wonder if that is close to where he is?
Anyways, he is in a place called Vilnius somewhere in eastern Lithuania. Last week he was in Malmö (locals say "Mal:muh") Sweden then briefly in København (or Copenhagen as they call it here). Malmö was great, friendly, happy, clean and full of parks, canals and pederstrian walkways. There was even a "Hundrasplats" popular with the local "hunds" (that's doggers to us) right by the sea so they can swim and chase sticks.
So, now it is Vilnius and he went for a run in a local forested area and said the forest was very similar to the Pacific Spirit Park, with added benches and fire pits. The similarity ended with meeting an older man walking a huge cow on a leash, then comming across a horse grazing in a field with another cow...
And then imagine running out of the forest into a drab gray appartment complex with no parking lot anywhere around that has the locals parking on the sidewalk, front lawns, forest, and other nooks and crannies.
Unlike Sweden, few people in Lithuania speak english so simple communication tasks are quite challenging. Did you know that I have a good vocabulary? I know sit, stay, wait, snack, cookie, breakfast, lunch, dinner, banana, apple, kiss, bed, pee-pee, blanket, car, bye-bye,... Whether I choose to acknowledge the meaning is another question entirely :)
Looks like I have to go!
Tak, The Gaffer
