Connaught Park Crime Beat

Hiya Doggers,

I'm back again on the crime beat. Every now and then it is my duty to report on the seedy underbelly of the deviant elements in our dog park. Aside from the fact we are, technically, all guilty of being off-leash... there is always more if you dig deeper.
Speaking of digging deeper, did you know that there was grass under the snow? That was so cool!
Focus doggers, this is important. As important as sleeping, and playing, and walking, and eating, and scratching, and... where was I?

Oh yeah. We're talking about violent crimes against the park-pack; uttering threats, coersion, intimidation, bullying and even assault.

First it was Rocco, then Lucy "the Grrl!", Stevie, an unknown puppy- a poor defenseless puppy, followed by Floyd and most recently Shika.

With increasing frequency this past week, "Bert the Killer Dog" has become the dominant personality over his mild mannered alter-ego (who shall remain nameless to protect his potential return to park society). We all thought we were safe while he was undergoing rehab. in St. Cerebellum's

This is not a farcical "dangerous breed" situation either. After a Google search, it is my belief that "Bert" is a exhibiting text book 301.7 development.

He is a young male. He has demonstrated a difficulty with authority. I've seen him show cruelty to animals. And he has shown anger toward authority.

I can't say I've seen or heard of any altercations with the Animal Control Officers to confirm a pattern of legal altercations. Nor can I picture him setting fires. To tell you the truth I am not even sure that's possible...

But watch out when he does, my money is on him torching a pound van then peeing on it!

What can we do fellow doggers? Be vigilant and when confronted remember this when debating flight or fight; flight is right.

The Gaffer
