ow-whe!

Okay sympathy... lots of sympathy...

Last week I hurt myself, not like a suck it up you're fine hurt, but a full on blood and trembling needing hugs and lots of kisses hurt.

I was playing soccer in Stanley Park by Second Beach while by triathlon pack was doing a bike time trial and when I was running for the ball I stepped on one of those plastic utility access panels for the sprinklers- and it was not bolted down, and it had a big ass crack on it (like that? a bum joke!)

Anyways, the second claw on my left leg got caught in the crack and as I ran on it got pulled back something nasty. Not being a highly trained Premier League soccer player, I didn't know what I was supposed to do...

Enough of that. I soldiered on, with one claw ripped off, bleeding like a headless chicken (yum!)

After a few minutes when we took a break, I started to feel funny and my foot hurt so I nuzzled up to my monkey, tail down and trembling. He quickly saw my foot was injured and we were off to the vet before I knew it. Come to think of it, we're always off to the vet before I know it...

We went to a new vet, apparently AWAC was closed for the night, luckily there was one near home.

So my monkey carried me in (I like it when he carries me, I move up in the pack order :P) and pretty soon I was all check out and getting pretty sleepy. A nice lady brought a blankie in for me and I lay down for a nap... when I woke up my claw was gone and, this is weird- all my claws were clipped and trimmed! Alien abduction or what.

Oy yeah, my foot was all bandaged up too. It was pretty sore so I walked super slowly on it. That and I was super wobbly for some reason. I think they slipped me something when I wasn't looking.

Yeah, home we went and I was out like a light. I woke up once in the middle of the night after I had a dream that reminded me I had to go pee, except it was too late! I was so out of it I wet my bed :-( I felt soooo bad. My monkey changed all my bedding and cleaned me up, and before I knew it I was sound asleep again.

So its a week later. My foot is much better, I'm still not allowed to run on it, but I can walk around without any pain and I'm not a three legged dog anymore. Best of all I'm all done with the meds- yuck! Even hidden in tomatoes, avocado, banana or rabbit burger- I can still taste it you know... hello?

I'm most sad about missing the last week or run training with my monkey and aunty Martina- she's super nice to me and always let me sit on her lap in the car. Sometimes when she has to go to work I pretend I can't hear her telling me to move over.

Maybe one day I'll win and she'll stay and play with me all day... Don't tell but I have her birthday present already ;-)
