Hiya Doggers,
I am back after a fun filled long weekend. It was great having both my Monkey and Karen around for a whole three days. I am not sure why but it was a good thing.
We were at Buntzen Lake for my triathlon training early on Sunday morning. It was chilly until the sun came over the mountains, and then it was nice and warm. We did a few mini-triathlons which I watched, and then my main event the aquathon! This time we swam around a small island just to the left of the boat ramp (see I know my lefts and rights- admitedly I tend to get it correct more often when I can ready body language like a finger or arm pointing the way).
So swimming around this island, it was around 400 m or so and I did it twice! The first time was kind of scary so I hugged the island really close. Now that I think about it, why didn't I get out and walk along the side of the island?
The second swim was after I practiced a few beach starts. You know, those super fun run in and then jump starts? On this swim I started out fast wiht my monkey and Stephanie (who may well be a fish but I am not sure). And I got dropped! When I can't draft my monkey it is sooo much harder. And I am just a little dog (insert puppy eyes here)...
Luckily my monkey came back for me, but by that time I had gone back to the beach to play wiht some kids who thought I was a beaver. So, my monkey gets my attention somehow and lures me back into the water and off we go again. We rounded the island and on the way in I accidentally ran Alison over. I think she was a little freaked out that this beaver like apparition just motored right over her making a bee-line for the beach!
That was Buntzen.
We also went to Lynn Canyon for a walk-run and swim break. I think I was a celebrity there, everyone knew me by the time I left. Especially that group whose sandwiches I ate.
The highlight recently must have been my attempt at the dog farting World Record, the combined volume and duration category. I chose last night (Wednesday) for the attempt, while I was sitting in the kitchen waiting for a banana. It was so cool, I love to see my monkey's and Karen's faces when I crack one off while keeping an emotionless attitude like I am oblivious to the fart.
Let me tell you, for an 18 month old vizsla I was great.
I had volume.
I had duration.
I received applause.

JJ, I'm jealous. It looks like you had a fantastic time. I sat at home while my monkey did yard work. He did take time out to play with me and take me for a walk, but I am a Lab and I LOVE THE WATER. It doesn’t matter how cold it is, as long as it is water. I could also learn to love to chase dragon flies – as long as it is near water.
Love your website. Cya
