Doggy Duathlon World Championship

How to Enter: Click here for an entry form. Fill it out completely. You must include a picture of your race partner (the dog). Applications may be mailed, faxed or e-mailed. No entry will be considered unless COMPLETELY filled out. Entry deadline 10/20, entry notification 10/25.

Mail to: NYC Triathlon/Doggy Duathlon, 250 West 57th St Ste. 1713, New York, NY 10107

Competitors: 20 teams will be selected based on the application.

Entry Fee: $200 and includes logoed dog life vest, cool t-shirt, and finisher medals!

The Race: 1500 meter swim followed by a 10k run - same swim/run as the Triathlon.

The Start: You and Fido will be together in a Doggy Duathlon-only wave.

Mandatory Doggie Life Vest: You may not mind throwing Fido into the Hudson with no life jacket but we do. A special life vest will be provided and must be worn by your dog during the entire swim. No vest, no race.

Who Wears the Chip: The dog wears the chip. You’re along for the ride.

Transition: There will be a separate Duathlon transition.

The Run: All dogs must be leashed before exiting transition. Race marshals will DQ the team if the dog leaves transition or is seen on the course without a leash. No leash, no race, no fun.

Briefing: You and Fido must attend the Doggie Duathlon-only briefing Saturday, July 19. There will be a dog whisper for the dog. No briefing, no race.

Vet Check: There will be a vet check at the briefing, swim start, and the transition. You think we’re kidding? Vet decisions are FINAL.

What Kind of Dogs May Enter: Any breed may enter but only with a human partner. No human, no race.

Vet DQ: Race Vets may DQ a team for ANY reason to protect the safety of the dog.

Awards: Top three finishers. There are no age, breed, or sex (human or dog) divisions.

PC Dogs and Athletes: Entries will be accepted on a case by case basis based on the disability of the dog or the human.
