... becasue it is there!

Hiya Doggers!

I was out braving the elements again Sunday morning- bone chilling sub zero temperatures, driving snow storms, gale force winds,... and I am sure all three were working together at times. Somewhere in the world. Where I was- it was snowing lightly, barely below zero ºC and at times a little breezy.

Overnight there was 15 cm of new snow on the mountain, a little less in town. I was the first critter on the trail this morning and broke trail all the way. With a thin layer of ice under the new snow on everything I was "snow blind"! I couldn't smell a thing and it was tough finding the trail. I had to look for it most of the time and those monkeys are pretty poor at marking the way!

At times I was just following the dent in the snow where the trail was!

But it was very pretty! Snow packed on the trees, clean and white everywhere.

This next picture is near the top of Hollyburn Ridge.

As you can see, when I am cold and frosty the snow dog, posing for a picture is not high on my list of priorities! Like cold! Can you see my snow beard in this picture?

We came off the mountain down some pretty deep snow. I was wallowing in it at times, and let me tell you it was cold!

As soon as we were on the trail again, I ran down super fast, lovin' the fresh powder! Passed lots of backcountry skiers coming up the hill- see ya suckas!

And now my après ski pics :-) This is me in my super warm vest and toque... Doing my best GQ pose. Or is that my best "best in breed" pose?

And now doing my walk to the camera, check out that look!

He he he... It may look like I'm getting down for some good old fashioned howlin' action.

I love winter! If only it wasn't so cold...

The Gaffer

BTW- whatever you do, do not call me a ski bunny! If you do, I will find you...

I will sniff you out of hiding.

I will point at you.

I will stalk you.

I am a hunting dog.

You'll never see me coming...
